If you are looking to autotune vocals within FL Studio, one of your best options will be to use the native plugin called NewTone. NewTone is an excellent tool for visualizing and adjusting the pitch of a vocal sample and features some simple controls that allow you to dial in the sound of the autotune. Pitcher is the second FL Studio autotune plugin, which we will look at a little later. You get the best of both worlds if you need. When looking to autotune in FL Studio, one primary native VST plugin will be helpful to you, and that is NewTone. ![]() I think the Channel Rack is far superior myself for stuff like drum programming and everything, but for people who really like the Playlist for hard cuts and volume fades and stuff, you can technically right click the pattern number up top, and convert a whole pattern to audio, so you can make a kick or snare or hi hat pattern in the channel rack and then bounce it to an audio clip in the playlist instantly. Plus you can use it as an instrument, in the piano roll, with different notes and velocities, and everything MIDI supports. So when it comes to stuff like drum one-shots or 808s, you have way more sample shaping manipulation and control in the Channel Rack than the playlist. If you add it to the Channel Rack, you also get the Envelope tab, which lets you do custom ADSR to further control attack, decay, sustain, release of samples. You can use some of the knobs in the Sampler editing like In, Out, Sample Start Time, etc. You use the tool specific to the job if you need to go beyond their already pretty robust basic sampler settings.Īlso, dragging an audio file into the Channel Rack as a Channel Sampler instrument gives you more flexibility and settings than dragging it into the Playlist as an audio clip. There's a lot of audio manipulation possible in FL, it's just not all in one place. Then there's stuff like DirectWave that you can convert any audio samples into an instrument, setting loop points, stretching the audio sample across the keyboard, etc. NewTime is a way to quantize or add groove to audio files, so you could load in any loop or audio sample and adjust it to fit more to a grid or a groove grid to adjust things off the grid. NewTone is basically build in piano roll based pitch editing like Melodyne. Slicex is for chopping audio, timestretching drum loops, and more in depth sample chopping/manipulation. If you know of any more, send a mod mail!Įdison, Slicex, NewTone, and NewTime all have different uses.Įdison is more for general audio editing and repair, like denoising, spectral stuff, finding the key/tempo, etc. r/JunkFolder - post unfinished tracks here for others to finish If you're here, chances are you've heard of other similar subreddits, but in case you haven't, check these out. ![]() Intro to Mixing in FLStudio by /u/by-any-other-name ![]() Want to discuss plugins, VST's, and the like?ġ00+ Awesome Free Online Resources For Music Producers If you violate any of these rules you will either receive a warning or a timed ban Manual!
